templates ​

server-wide defaults that new feeds inherit. tweak once, every new feed starts the same.

if you've ever set up ten feeds and clicked through the same toggles ten times, this is the page for you.

what gets inherited ​

new feeds created in the dashboard or via /follow start with the matching platform's template applied. existing feeds don't change when you edit a template, edit those individually on configure feed.

the template uses the same three tabs as a feed: destination, filters, display. anything you can set on a feed, you can set as a default here. changes save when you press save at the bottom.

one set of defaults per platform ​

the platform picker (top of the page) lets you keep separate templates for x/twitter, bluesky, and rss. an x feed inherits the x template, a bluesky feed inherits the bluesky template. switch platforms in the picker to edit each one.

the defaults menu ​

top right, defaults opens a small menu:

• clone: copy the system defaults onto this template, useful as a starting point
• export: download the current template as json
• import: replace the current template with a json file
• reset: throw away your tweaks and go back to system defaults (only shows once you've customized)

export and import work across servers, so you can build a template you like in one server and reuse it everywhere.
